Bairnswear 1237:  Vintage knitted doll knitting pattern. This doll is knitted in vintage 3ply or try modern 4ply to get the correct tension. All her clothes are knitted separately and she measures 20.5 inches high. she has a dress, shoes, vest and pants and a coat and bonnet, she is adorable! This pattern is from the 1930's.

Bestway 877LF: Great vintage MILITARY DOLLS knitting pattern with Jack Tar, sailor. The Airman and the Soldier. This leaflet is large format rather than the smaller latter editions. Knitted in 4ply and they measure 10 or 12 inches.

Bestway 877: Vintage toy pattern for three military dolls from the 1940's. Soldier, sailor and airman knitted in vintage 4ply. Airman 12" high, Sailor 10" high, soldier 12". As the pattern calls for size 12 or 2.75mm needles modern 4ply will probably work.

Bestway 947: Great vintage toy knitting pattern for lady service dolls 1940s There are instructions for W.A.A.F, A.T.S, and W.R.N.S dolls measuring about 12" all knitted in vintage 4ply on size 12 needles (2.75mm). My mother knitted these for children who had lost their toys in the bombing during the war.

Bestway 880: Great vintage knitted doll knitting pattern from the wartime. A little girl doll, a clown and a jack tar. The dolls are made from folding thick wool into skeins and wrapping them in places with wool thread creating limbs and head. The clothes are then knitted to fit them in vintage 3ply or modern 4ply. They are about 7-8 inches tall.

Bestway 1578: fabulous rare vintage wartime toy pattern for knitted dolls 1940s wartime pattern. The dolls are simply made by folding skeins of wool then tying them in places to make arms, legs and head and the clothes are all knitted - we all did this at school in the 40's and 50's!

Bestway A2841: Vintage toy knitting pattern, great little toys in vintage  1940s.    Instructions for 3 toys. Duck 6.5", brushed with wire brush to make fluffy, Chick the same 5", or knit in angora or leave just plain knitted, pixie doll 9" with removable suit.  Work tension square to see if modern 4ply will give better size. Bestway 3339: Vintage toy knitting pattern from Bestway. Here are a fun group.. There is a rabbit, teddy, cat, doll and a clown all knitted in double knitting and take just over 50gs of wool each - great for the charity bazaar or church fete or those gift boxes at Christmas. The toys measure 10.5" when stuffed. if you want smaller toys knit in a finer ply on smaller needles.

Knitted Doll - Homecraft 353: Lovely vintage knitting pattern for a two knitted dolls Pearl and her little sister Jane. Pearl is 17.5 inches and Jane is 12 inches, knitted from oddments of wool. knitted in 4ply doubled or wool made to the same thickness ie using more than one strand to make this sort of thickness - similar to modern double knitting tension will be 5st to inch on no8 needles or 4mm. easy pattern, good clear instructions.

Good Friends-Lilly: Great vintage knitted doll pattern from 1930s. Knitted in double knitting and 4ply wool, no size is given. She is very traditional and would be great for re-enactment as a child from the early war years would have one similar.

WWdoll-4-10-54: Vintage knitting pattern for a little baby on here blanket, so easy to knit, great tree present or for a little ones stocking. She only measures 3.5 inches. If you wanted to make her a pair of wings from tinsel or feathers she would make a grand fairy or angel for the Christmas Tree. Worked in vintage 3ply, so try modern 4ply or if you want her a little bigger try modern double knitting (or even smaller modern 3ply - she is ideal then for a dolls house)

Weldons 21: Bell Toy: Great vintage knitting pattern for pram doll with bells. Easy to make, if making for a child make sure bells are sewn on securely or for safety sew them inside the doll, they will still tinkle. She is worked in stocking stitch so is quick to make. Although her face is a store bought mask, if this is unobtainable embroider features on front of head. However they do appear on ebay occasionally.

Weldons 472: Delightful vintage knitting pattern for Dolly Dimples, 16 inches high. Pattern is from 1940's Made from odds and ends, for economy! The little doll in the picture has scraps or bunny (angora ) wool to make her look really special. This is one of my favourite toy patterns - she knits up beautifully. The original doll was knitted in pale blue, dark blue, pale yellow stripes, yellow hair and blue bows with dark blue stripe and shoes and pale pink for body. Sew her features once she is stuffed - diagram on the back.

WM Circus Clown: Vintage toy knitting pattern from 1940's measuring 15" tall and worked in vintage 3ply so try modern 4ply to get this height or thinner ply for smaller clown or double knitting for a bigger clown.

WM Ginger Megs: Vintage toy knitting pattern for boy doll. From the 1940's. Here we have a little chap that may be familiar to some of my customers who remember the war years and the late 1930's. Ginger measures 16.5 inches and is quite a cheeky chap.

WM Sailor: Vintage Toy knitting pattern for a wartime sailor boy, 1940's he measures 16 inches and looks a jolly chap ( see Bestway patterns at the beginning of the toy patterns for another Sailor pattern (as well as airman, and soldier) trousers and top removable. Vintage 3ply is used for this size, so try modern 4ply or use thicker or thinner ply depending on size you require.

Weldons B904. Fabulous vintage knitting pattern for a layette for 10 inch doll, looks great on a Rosebud or pedigree baby! Knitted in 2ply, trimmed with angora and lace. Long layette takes 6 oz (3 x 50gms balls) (I used modern 3ply Patons pure wool) the short layette takes 4oz or 2x 50gm balls. Bonnet 3rd of an ounce of angora (10gms) The doll pictured is also knitted, instructions given to make a 10 inch little soft doll - great baby christening gift! The set consists of dress, jacket, bonnet, nappy, vest, petticoat and shawl. Stunning when knitted up.
